GEA Omni Control System

Description

One control system for almost all components Developers at GEA Refrigeration Technologies have designed the GEA Omni control system
such that it also provides functionalities for other companies’ components, and not only for GEA equipment. The GEA Omni is a control system for almost all components. This means that operators no longer have to worry about secondary controller systems. The complete plant is optimized by one control center as an overall system. This saves time, costs, and prevents malfunctions.
The basis of this omni-component, open-system control solution is the clearly organized wiring in the control panel, as well as its input/output possibilities. GEA Omni supports various industrial communications standards, which simplifies the integration of other plant systems. These standards are comparable with PC interfaces such as USB 2.0 and Ethernet – only that, with GEA Omni, the data transmission, cable and connection systems are designed for rough duty in industrial environments. On the shop floor and in equipment centers, data breakdowns and plant malfunctions must not be allowed to result from dust, moisture, overvoltage, or vibrations. As a result, other communications standards have become widespread in some areas of industry: e.g., Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus RTU, Allen-Bradley DF1, and PROFIBUS.
